Since 2014, The Bunker (formerly The Boulder Bunker) has been running a highly successful youth training programme in the Torbay area. Our success is measured not just in climbing achievements, but in the holistic development of our young participants:

Our Unique 8-Level Training System
- Rockies: Introduction to basic climbing movements and safety.
- Alps: Developing fundamental techniques and body awareness.
- Andes: Enhancing strength and problem-solving skills.
- Urals: Focusing on endurance and route reading.
- Sierra Nevada: Introducing advanced techniques and mental strategies.
- Caucasus: Refining skills and tackling more challenging routes.
- Himalayas – Base Camp: Mastery of complex routes and personal climbing style.
- Himalayas: Peak performance and advanced competition skills.
- Age Restrictions: Participants must be at least 6 years old unless stated otherwise.
- Waiver Form: All participants must sign a waiver before the hike begins.
- Parental Consent (for Minors): Participants under 18 must provide a signed consent form from a parent or legal guardian.

How it works
- Choose your group: ( Kids Club: Ages 6–10, Wed 16:00–17:00, Fri 16:30–17:30, Sat 10:30–11:30. Squad: Ages 11+, Wed 19:00–20:00, Sun 10:30–11:30 )
- Select your session(s) and number of places.
- Book online and receive instant confirmation.
- Arrive 5 minutes early—bring comfy clothes, trainers, and a water bottle.
- Climb, learn, and have fun! All sessions are fully supervised by DBS-checked coaches.

Common Questions
What’s the minimum age to join?
Kids Club is for ages 6–11. Our Squad sessions are for advanced climbers, typically 11+ (ask if unsure).
Does my child need any climbing experience?
Nope! Beginners are welcome. We tailor coaching to each child’s ability and experience.
What should my child wear and bring?
Comfy sportswear, trainers, and a water bottle. We provide all climbing equipment (shoes, chalk).
Can parents stay and watch?
Absolutely. You’re welcome to relax in our café or viewing area during the session.
How big are the groups?
We keep groups small—usually 10 or fewer per coach—so everyone gets plenty of attention.
Is there a trial session before committing?
Yes! Book a single session to try it out before choosing a block booking.
Are your coaches qualified and DBS checked?
Yes, all our youth coaches are DBS checked and experienced in working with children.
What if my child can’t make a session?
Let us know as soon as possible. Cancellations with 24+ hours’ notice are fully refunded. For block bookings, see reception for options.
My child has additional needs—can they join?
We’re an inclusive centre and we do our best to accommodate everyone. Please contact us to discuss your child’s needs before booking.
Do you offer sibling or multi-child discounts?
