External Instructor Requirements

We welcome external instructors who wish to bring their own groups to our bouldering facility. To ensure the safety and quality of instruction for all climbers, we require the following documentation from external instructors:

Required Documents

1. Relevant Qualification Certificate

• Acceptable qualifications include:
  • Single Pitch Award (SPA)
  • Rock Climbing Instructor (RCI)
  • Climbing Wall Award (CWA)
• The qualification must be current and valid
• Please provide the original certificate or a certified copy

1. First Aid Certificate

• Must be a current and valid certification
• Minimum requirement: Emergency First Aid at Work (1-day course)
• Preferred: First Aid at Work (3-day course) or equivalent outdoor-specific first aid qualification

1. Proof of Insurance

• Current public liability insurance document
• Minimum coverage: £5 million
• Must explicitly cover climbing instruction activities

Submission Process

You have two options for submitting your documentation:

1. In-Person Submission

• Bring physical copies of all required documents on your first visit
• Our staff will review the documents and may take photocopies for our records

1. Advance Email Submission (Preferred)

• Email scanned copies or clear photographs of your documents to [insert email address]
• Please send these at least 48 hours before your planned visit
• We will create a file for you, streamlining the check-in process for future visits

Additional Information

• All documents will be treated confidentially and stored securely in compliance with GDPR regulations
• We reserve the right to refuse access if the required documentation is not provided or is found to be insufficient
• External instructors are expected to familiarise themselves with our facility’s specific rules and safety procedures before their first session
• We may request periodic updates of your documentation to ensure continued compliance
