Pyramid Max
Description
The "Pyramid Max" drill takes the concept of pyramid climbing to the next level by incorporating more routes at each grade, thereby intensifying the workout. It targets both technique and endurance by pushing you to complete multiple climbs of varying difficulty in a specific sequence.
Instructions
Begin with the Easiest Routes : Complete the 3 routes that are three grades below your skill level. Progress to the Next Tier : Complete the 2 routes that are two grades below your skill level. Tackle the Hardest Route : Climb the route that is one grade below your skill level. Complete the Drill : You’ve successfully completed the drill when you’ve climbed the routes in the following sequence: 3x Easy Grade, 2x Intermediate Grade, 1x Hard Grade.
Notes & Tips
The primary focus here is to maintain consistent quality and control in your movements across a larger volume of routes. Keep tabs on your endurance and technique throughout the drill, aiming for efficient, precise movements. As you grow more comfortable with this drill, consider adjusting the grades to better match your improving skill level. Pay attention to your body; if you’re experiencing any signs of fatigue or discomfort that could lead to injury, take a break.

Once you complete the hardest route, Reverse the Sequence : Now, start with the hardest route and work your way back down, completing the 2 routes that are two grades below and then the 3 routes that are three grades below your skill level. Complete the Drill : You’ve successfully finished the drill when you’ve climbed the routes in the following sequence (replace the grade names accordingly): 3x Easy Grade, 2x Intermediate Grade, 1x Hard Grade, 1x Hard Grade, 2x Intermediate Grade, 3x Easy Grade.
