Only One Leg
Description
The Only One Leg drill is a unique exercise designed to enhance your climbing skills by challenging your balance, body positioning, and leg strength. This drill forces you to pay extra attention to how you distribute your weight and how you use your feet, which are two crucial elements to climb efficiently.
Instructions
One Leg Climb : Choose a leg to start with. Climb the selected route using only that leg. Keep the other leg off the wall, or if needed, dangle it freely but don’t use it for climbing. Switch and Repeat : After completing the climb with one leg, descend and prepare to climb again, this time using only the other leg.
Notes & Tips
Focus on body positioning to distribute your weight effectively and make the most of your one supporting leg. If the route is overhung, you’ll need to pay extra attention to your body positioning to manage the incline effectively. You can swing your “off” leg to provide additional momentum if needed.
