One Touch
Description
The "One Touch" drill challenges your route planning skills and pushes you to make decisive, intentional movements. The rules are strict: one hand per hold and no hand matches or foot switches. It will improve route reading, precision, and decisiveness in your climbing.
Instructions
Initial Planning : Spend a moment studying the route and identifying key holds and movements. One Hand, One Hold : As you climb, place only one hand on each hold and proceed upwards. Don’t adjust your grip on the hold. No Hand Matches : Ensure you don’t match hands on any of the holds. No Foot Switches : Similarly, once a foot is placed, it can’t be switched with the other foot on the same hold. Focus on Precision : Being precise in your movements is critical for success in this drill. Full Engagement: Engage your core and make every movement deliberate, knowing that you can’t adjust your grip or footing. Route Completion : Finish the route under these conditions and make a mental or physical note of any challenging parts.
