Climbing Flow
Description
The "Climbing Flow" drill aims to teach you how to find your natural rhythm and flow while climbing. By prioritizing smooth transitions and 70 deliberate movements, you'll develop a sense of harmony between your body and the wall. Over time, this can lead to more efficient climbing and a heightened sense of awareness. This will develop a smooth, flowing climbing style by emphasizing fluidity in each movement.
Instructions
Flow Movements : Climb the selected route by moving through each action as smoothly as possible. The goal is to maintain a sense of fluidity when you make moves as well as between moves. You might find that you’re climbing more slowly than usual, and that’s okay. Flow through transitions : In addition to the flow you have with individual moves, you should feel your body flow in the transitional stages as well. Avoid stopping or being robotic while transitioning from move to move. Dance to the Finish : To complete the drill, you will likely look like you are dancing up the wall with smooth movements throughout the entire accent.
Notes & Tips
Many climbers find that exaggerating the movement or “giving in” to the momentum of each move helps maintain flow. Climbing slower than your usual pace is expected in this drill. The focus is on finding your natural rhythm that allows for smooth and controlled movements.
