Description

Identifying Routes : Select 3 routes for each grade up to your project level. Make sure these routes vary in style, from crimps to slopes to pinches, for a balanced experience. Example route selection: If you are projecting on V2 routes V0: Route 1 (Crimpy), Route 2 (Slope), Route 3 (Pinch) V1: Route 4 (Balance), Route 5 (Overhang), Route 6 (Slab) V2: Route 7 (Technical), Route 8 (Dynamic), Route 9 (Static)

Instructions

Warm-Up Climbs : Start with the easiest grade and climb 3 routes. Rest minimally between these as they serve as your warm-up. Progressive Climbing : Move up to the next grade and again climb 3 routes. Continue in this fashion until you reach your project grade. Project Attempts : Once you have climbed all grades leading up to and including your project grade, pick 2 routes that excite you the most. Attempt these 2-3 more times each. Alternatively, you can choose one and give it no more than 6 additional tries.

Notes & Tips

Different gyms have varying numbers of routes at each grade, so aim for a total of 15-20 routes to get the most out of this drill. Take your time before each climb to review all of the available holds and create a plan for each move before getting on each of the routes.
